Whether you need the basics of survival skills or you are already familiar with wilderness living this course will teach you a wealth of practical wilderness knowledge. This weekend bushcraft course offers the chance to sleep under a tarp on the first night but you can also choose to stay in motels and hotels nearby.

Introduction

During this class you will learn some of the basics of survival in the wilderness. Whether you are planning to embark on an expedition into remote foreign wilderness or just want to be more confident when camping out in familiar woods, these basic skills will help keep you safe and secure.

You will learn to identify edible plants, build a shelter, cook rabbits, fish and birds using primitive cooking methods, purify water, use knives safely, and more. These skills will allow you to survive in the wilderness for up to two nights should the need arise.

These are practical, hands on skills that are learned through interaction and practice. No amount of reading or watching videos can compare to experiencing these skills firsthand. These skills will give you the confidence to go anywhere and thrive in the wild.

Shelters

Whether you’re a hiker, camper or survival enthusiast, the ability to survive in nature is an essential skill. This weekend bushcraft course teaches you wilderness survival techniques in the UK’s scenic woodland environments.

Learn skills including primitive trapping and food procurement. You’ll also be taught how to use and construct a variety of shelters, including tarps and lean-tos.

The weekend bushcraft course is a fun and immersive experience that goes beyond traditional camping activities. It gives you the chance to test your abilities and build confidence in outdoor survival skills. You’ll leave the course with a greater understanding of how to read your environment and live in harmony with it. This includes fire lighting, identifying edible plants and survival kit creation. The course runs from Friday night until Sunday afternoon.

Food

Learn wilderness survival skills from an experienced instructor in the great outdoors. Whether it’s a weekend course or a week-long immersion into wilderness living, there’s an option for every experience level.

Accredited by the NCFE, this Level 2 Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Livings Skills course teaches you practical techniques for lighting fires, identifying edible plants, building shelters, purifying water, preparing rabbit, fish and birds, and using knives safely and efficiently.

Proper food preparation is essential in outdoor survival, as mishandling can pose serious health risks. Developing these skills will boost your confidence and move you from surviving to thriving in the wild! The course also includes learning about flora and fauna identification, natural navigation and animal sign interpretation. You will also be taught about woodcrafting, including making a bow drill friction fire and carving with both straight and hook knifes.

Water

There’s something uniquely empowering about tackling the wilderness, and learning to rely solely on your own resources for survival. You can learn this vital skill in a range of different outdoor survival courses that teach everything from fire lighting to animal sign interpretation.

There are weekend classes, week-long courses, nine-month training programs, and even online survival courses. Each teaches modern and primitive wilderness survival skills that help you feel at home in nature.

The course will also cover a variety of bushcraft tools and camping equipment, including axes, saws, tarps and hammocks. A free bushcraft knife is included, as well as a tool kit (to be kept by the student) and loaned essential survival gear.
