The Ultimate Guide to Understanding Wedding Photography Packages

Wedding photographers photograph a huge variety of weddings from quaint English garden celebrations to grand manor house events, historical castles and cosy barns. They are also experts at capturing the genuine character, personality and love that exists at every wedding.

Styles of Photography

Dorset is a stunning county and has a huge variety of wedding venues of all shapes and sizes; from quaint English gardens to luxurious manor houses, historical castles, cosy barns and romantic orangeries. I enjoy photographing at them all!

This lovely couple celebrated their engagement at their home in Bournemouth before having a photo shoot in the garden and along the beach. They chose to use these photos as their wedding invitations, so they really wanted to capture the love and joy they felt for each other.

I offer a mixture of styles, but my favourite is capturing the moments as they happen. This is a very relaxed and documentary approach to photography which helps keep your day stress free, and also produces some truly beautiful wedding photographs. I also offer Medium Format and 35mm Film Wedding Photography if you prefer a more traditional style. This can be done in my studio in Wareham or at your chosen beauty spot or stately home local to me.

Locations

Dorset has miles of picturesque coastline and beautiful countryside, making it the perfect place to say “I do.” A skilled Devon wedding photographer will be able to capture the beauty of your surroundings and create stunning images that will last a lifetime.

Traditional wedding photography is based on classical posing techniques and uses props to create a timeless look. This style is often favoured by couples who want more formal photos.

If you’re looking for a more unique style, consider getting married at a beach or other natural setting. This will give your wedding photos a more rustic and authentic feel.

The Isle of Portland is a popular location for wedding photos. The shingle spit of Chesil Bank offers views of the sea and the famous red-and-white striped lighthouse at Portland Bill. The island is also west-facing, so it’s a great spot to capture sunset wedding photos. This is another reason why it’s important to choose a wedding photographer who has experience shooting in various weather conditions. Find out more at dorset wedding photographer.

Packages

If you are a bride or groom planning your big day and want to hire me as your photographer, please get in touch for more information. Prices start from PS500 for an intimate celebration, or PS3000 for a full-day coverage.

From rustic barn weddings to grand affairs in stately homes, Dorset offers stunning backdrops for every kind of celebration. Whether you’re exchanging vows in the Gothic grandeur of Pennsylvania Castle or dancing under the stars at a farm wedding near Wareham, your story will unfold in breathtaking photos.

All packages include a pre-wedding shoot, high-resolution images presented on a gorgeous wooden USB stick in a beautiful presentation box (Copyright free for you to use as you wish), and a video slideshow of highlights from the day. You also have access to a private online gallery, allowing you and your guests to download your favourite photos and share them on social media. This eliminates the need for physical prints and saves on expensive postage costs.

Pricing

Some wedding photographers charge hourly while others offer a fixed price package. The latter can include prints and albums. According to planner Kate Ryan, a photographer’s experience and clientele can also impact their pricing. For example, a destination wedding photographer may have more expensive equipment and a roster of celebrity clients than a local pro.

Photographers who specialize in intimate celebrations can capture the beauty of small, meaningful events. Their relaxed approach allows couples to be themselves and stay fully present in the moment. This allows them to produce stunning visual narratives that are uniquely their own. They can also capture the joy of simple Dorset elopements and other short ceremonies, such as justice-of-the-peace or quick civil marriages. These small weddings provide a more relaxed setting for couples to connect with their loved ones and can be more affordable than larger events. Intimate weddings also allow photographers to focus on capturing fleeting moments, such as a bride’s mother’s reaction when she sees her daughter down the aisle.
